Abdulhameed Boluwatife Ibrahim, a 16-year-old student of Platform College, Ipaja, Lagos, has clinched the ₦10 million grand prize at the Digital For All Challenge, a UK-sponsored national Information Technology (IT) competition organised by Tech4DEV.
Boluwatife outperformed more than 15,000 contestants across the country, having first emerged winner at the Lagos State level and later the South-West zonal stage before sealing victory at the grand finale in Abuja.
Director of Platform Schools, Dr. Bola Obe, hailed the achievement as proof of the school’s commitment to raising globally competitive students.
“Boluwatife’s victory is not just for our school but for Nigeria.
“It shows that our investment in ICT education is producing future innovators,” Obe said.
An excited Boluwatife, after receiving his prize, attributed his success to God, his parents, and his teachers.
“The competition was tough, but my ICT teachers prepared me well. Winning ₦10 million feels like a dram come true,” he said.
Platform Schools recently launched the Platform Information Technology Academy (PITA) and an A-Level Pre-University programme to equip students with globally relevant skills.
The institution has also sustained its dominance in ICT and chess competitions for three consecutive years, strengthening its reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading private schools.
