The Lagos State Safety Commission, LSSC, sealed off the popular Ikeja Shopping Mall branch of Shoprite.
According to the LSSC officials, the largest fast moving consumer goods retail outlet was shut down because it breached safety laws of the land.
Further probe revealed that the outlet was sealed for selling expired and adulterated product following complaint from members of the public.
An eye witness reported that officials of LSSC drove out all customers before placing a seal order at the entrance. The seal order reads: “Sealed. This premise had been sealed following the breach of safety law. This seal must not be broken. For further enquiries, contact the Commission.
