A foremost socio-cultural, philanthropic and educational organization based in the Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State,Prima Strata, has concluded arrangements to hold the 22nd edition of the National Law Students debate.
The debate would be a two day event with 10 schools participating.
The institutions are University of Ibadan (UI), UNIOSUN,University of Ado Ekiti, (UNAD), UNIILORIN, OAU, BOWEN, BABCOCK,CRESCENT UNIVERSITY and LEAD CITY.
The 1st round debate will come up on the 15th of February by 4pm at the faculty of law moot and mock court and the 2nd round will be on 16th of February by 10am at the New faculty of law moot and mock court making the club the first organization to use the newly constructed edifice.
According to the President,Count Ajanna Sheriff,the Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdulwasiu Musa and a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly and a former Count of the club,Hon Muhideen Olagunju with Professor Funmi Soetan of the Department of Economics will grace the events as special guests.
This year’s National law students debate will be headed by Primat Toluwani Jiboye and Primat Oyebola Coker.
Prima Strata Club was established on the 14th of May, 1983. At that time, it was the only student body to be so founded within the faculty of Law apart from the Law Students’ Society.
Prima Strata is a highly exclusive organization with membership strength of thirty (30). It is open only to Students of Law with high level performance.
The National Law Students Debate competition was introduced in August 1985 as a major event through which the Faculty of Law, OAU interacts with other Universities.
This years edition wii be the 22nd time the club is hosting the National law students debate.
