Power Finally Restored in Northern States After 10-Day Blackout

AFTER a 10-day blackout in various states across the Northern part of the country, the Transmission Company of Nigeria has confirmed the restoration of electricity.

The restoration of power in these areas follows the successful repair of the 330KV Ugwuaji-Apri transmission line 1 after it was vandalised by hoodlums.

A statement by Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s general manager of public affairs said electricity was restored at about 4:56 pm on Wednesday, marking the completion of repairs.

According to Mbah, with the restoration of the Apir-Lafia 330kV transmission line 2 is now operational.

This, she said will enable the resumption of bulk power transmission to seven different locations including Lafia, Makurdi, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, and Gombe states.

She also assured that site engineers will also begin repairs on the second 330kV transmission line once all needed resources are put in place.
