A 28-year-old man, Ilyasu Isah was on Thursday arraigned in a Zuba Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, for allegedly stealing iPhone 9 and Mp3.
The police charged Isah of Tungamaji village, Abuja, with criminal conspiracy and theft.
The prosecution counsel, Mr Chinedu Ogada told the Court that the complainant, Mr Noah Simeon of same address, reported the matter at the Zuba Police Station on April 24.
Ogada said the complainant claimed that the defendant and one known as Baba and John Godwin now at large committed the offence at Tungamaji.
He said that the defendant criminally conspired and stole the complainant’s iphone 9 and Mp3 all valued N 769,000 from his shop.
The prosecutor said that during police investigation, the defendant could not give a satisfactory account of his actions.
He said that the offences contravened sections 97 and 287 of the Penal Code.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Ogada prayed the Court to grant him date to open his case against the defendant.
The Magistrate, Abdulazeez Mohammed granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with one surety in like sum.
Mohammed ordered that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and produce reliable means of identification.
He adjourned the matter until May 28, for hearing. (NAN)
