Nigeria Wins U17 World Cup,sets new record

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets have won the 2015 U17 World championship.
They beat Mali 2-0 at the finals which was played in Chile in the early hours of Monday morning. The Cup triumph means that the Nigerians have successfully defended the title they won two years ago in the UAE.

Two quickfire second half goals from Victor Osimhen and Funsho Bamgboye ensured that Emmanuel Amuneke’s men cruised to victory as Nigeria claimed their fifth world title at under-17 level.
It is the first time that the Nigerians are winning the title outside of the Asian continent. Their previous successes have been in China in 1985, Japan in 1993, Korea Republic in 2007 and UAE in 2013.‎

Nigeria has set another record of being the first country to win three U17 world cup titles in 8 years and the Second country to win the title back-to-back(Brazil did it first winning the title consecutively in 1997 and 1999).
