The Lagos state local government elections in most polling units closed at 3.00 pm on Saturday, July 22, and reports indicate that counting of votes have commenced since then with the ruling All Progressive Congress in early lead.
At least 1300 candidates from 12 political parties are vying for chairmanship and councillorship positions in the just concluded election.
