LIVERPOOL took an opportunity to open up an 11-point gap on reigning Premier League champions Manchester City with a pulsating 2-0 victory at Anfield on Sunday.
Liverpool raced into an early lead through Cody Gakpo while Mohamed Salah scored a penalty kick to secure the victory for the Reds.
City have trailed in four consecutive Premier League games for the first time since April 2012, in what was a run of five under Roberto Mancini.
They’ve gone on to lose all four of these matches, after having been unbeaten in 12 straight games they had trailed in previously.
