Former President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed deep sorrow over the death of renowned businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, describing him as a visionary leader whose legacy in entrepreneurship and humanitarian service will endure for generations.
In a condolence message issued on Friday by Buhari’s former spokesperson, Garba Shehu, paid tribute to the late Dantata, noting his profound impact on Islamic education, healthcare, rural development, and business across Nigeria and West Africa.
“He leaves behind a monumental legacy in philanthropy and entrepreneurship that reshaped the lives of people and business settings in the country and beyond,” Buhari said.
The former president highlighted Dantata’s role in providing long-standing and stable leadership to one of Nigeria’s most respected business families, acknowledging his humility despite his wealth and status. He praised Dantata’s mentorship, which produced generations of entrepreneurs who continue to build on his legacy of leadership and giving.
He extended his condolences to the Dantata and Dangote families, the Kano Emirate Council, the government and people of Kano State, and all Nigerians who held the late Dantata in high esteem.
“May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus and give his loved ones the strength to bear this loss,” he prayed.
