Sam Allardyce on Monday said he was “very proud” to be named England manager and felt confident that he “fitted the chair”.


The 61-year-old Englishman — who succeeds Roy Hodgson, who stepped down after England lost to minnows Iceland in the last 16 of Euro 2016 — refused to confirm Wayne Rooney would remain as captain
